Hi, this is Betania.

One of the qualities that defines me is my strong interest in the humanities, particularly in language studies.

From a very young age, I have felt drawn to languages and communication. This interest led me to earn a degree in English Language Teaching from the Universidad de Carabobo (Venezuela), while actively taking part in activities related to literature and languages (courses, reading clubs, poetry magazines, among others).

Between 2014 and 2018, I worked as an English teacher in various primary and secondary schools in my country, as well as in local language institutes.

Later on, I became interested in teaching Spanish, my native language, and I was particularly drawn to the challenges involved in teaching such a rich language as Spanish. That is how I began my training to become a Spanish teacher, because knowing a language does not mean knowing how to teach it.

I specialized at the Universidad Nacional Abierta de Venezuela in telematics and computer science for distance education, since digital media is the primary and most immediate means for teaching a foreign language. At the same time, I completed various courses on teaching Spanish grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary through highly recognized institutions such as the Cervantes Institute, ELEInternational, and the Open University.

I have worked with some international language institutes, teaching Spanish to students from China, Canada, the United States, Russia, etc.

I currently have over seven years of experience and have taught more than 100 students, many of whom have achieved specific goals, such as obtaining DELE certification at levels ranging from A1 to C1 or achieving a high level of proficiency in their communicative skills for their real context.

I also continue to develop professionally and was recently certified as a DELE examiner for the B2 and C1 school levels. At present, I am pursuing a master’s degree in discourse analysis at the University of Buenos Aires, while also continuing my independent learning. I am passionate about learning and truly enjoy teaching.

I chose to build my career around teaching because I gain great satisfaction from seeing my students’ progress and being part of their growth, while at the same time learning from them and improving my communication, pedagogical, and human skills.
